Al-Weibdeh building owner sentenced to three years in prison

The Amman Magistrate Court announced Tuesday its decision to imprison the owner of the Al-Weibdeh building for a period of three years. Alongside this decision, the court also declared that the maintenance contractor and electrician involved in the incident would also serve three-year prison sentences.

The charges against the owner consisted of 14 counts related to causing death.

On September 13, 2022, a building in the Al-Weibdeh area of Amman collapsed, resulting in the death of 14 individuals and the injury of 10.
