Aqaba chlorine gas tank explosion perpetrators sentenced to three years
The Aqaba Criminal Court of First Instance sentenced those responsible for the death of 13 people in the chlorine gas tank explosion to three years in prison.
The Aqaba Company for Ports Operation and Management was fined JD 3,000, which is the maximum penalty.
According to the court, the shipment procedures that were followed were not commensurate with the risk that comes with transporting chlorine gas, in terms of public safety measures.
Notably, five people were declared innocent.
