Israeli Occupation intensifies Gaza bombardments for 402nd day amid worsening siege
The Israeli Occupation intensified its attacks on Gaza for the 402nd consecutive day, with continued bombardments targeting residential buildings and civilians. This escalation comes as northern Gaza remains under a heavy siege, causing severe shortages in food and medical supplies.
In a statement, the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) confirmed a limited incursion west of Nuseirat Camp, accompanied by intense gunfire and artillery shelling that targeted multiple homes in the area.
Meanwhile, “Israeli” media sources disclosed that security officials advised Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to avoid staying in fixed locations. This precaution follows an assassination attempt, and reports indicate that Netanyahu has been conducting meetings from a fortified room within the Prime Minister’s office.
Additionally, Channel 12 reported that Netanyahu’s legal team will request a postponement of his court testimony to prevent repeated appearances in the same location, citing security concerns.
– Continued West Bank raids –
In the occupied West Bank, the IOF continued nightly raids across multiple Palestinian towns and cities, with notable activity in Qalqilya and Hebron.
– Qatar suspends mediation efforts, says Hamas –
In response to recent developments, Mohammad Nazzal, a member of Hamas’s Political Bureau, commented on Qatar’s decision to suspend its mediation efforts.
Nazzal characterized the move as a reaction to what he described as Netanyahu’s manipulation of ongoing negotiations over the past few months. He refuted rumors suggesting that Qatar had requested Hamas leaders to relocate from the country, emphasizing that these claims were unfounded and spread by hostile parties.
Nazzal clarified that Hamas neither received offers from foreign nations to transfer its leaders nor made any requests to relocate. He stated that the organization remains committed to its struggle and affirms its intention to continue its liberation project. Hamas leadership currently operates out of Iran, Qatar, and Lebanon, with some officials previously based in Turkey and Syria.
– Expansion of ground operations in Lebanon –
On the Lebanese front, “Israeli” Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi reportedly approved an expansion of ground operations.
According to Channel 12, IOF officials believe it is still premature to allow residents of border towns to return to their homes. Additionally, the channel reported a joint “Israeli”-American consensus suggesting that the situation in Lebanon should be strategically leveraged for political gains, with both governments agreeing that achievements on this front have reached their peak.
