New BRT route to link Amman, Madaba

The Amman Vision Transport company announced Tuesday the launch of a new route for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) connecting the capital Amman with Madaba Governorate.

The route began with eight buses operating 52 scheduled trips daily — without waiting for full passenger loads. The operational cost for the Amman–Madaba line is estimated at JD 500,000.

Buses will depart from designated points on fixed schedules, passing through the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridors in Amman and the service road alongside the Airport Road, helping reduce travel time and effort for commuters.

He also noted that the government will subsidize the operator with JD 500,000 to help upgrade the bus fleet, ensuring continuity and quality of service.

Amman Mayor Yousef Shawarbeh said the new buses will feature modern amenities, including electronic payment systems, free Wi-Fi, and facilities to accommodate passengers with disabilities.
