Six ‘Israeli’ airstrikes target Latakia, western Syria

‘Israeli’ airstrikes targeted the 110th Brigade in the coastal city of Latakia, western Syria, early Thursday morning.

Six consecutive airstrikes hit the brigade, which houses warboats and former regime weapon storage.

It was also reported that reconnaissance planes, believed to be ‘Israeli’, are still flying over the area.

The Syrian news agency (SANA) confirmed that ‘Israeli’ warplanes carried out several strikes in the vicinity of Al-Bayda port and the city of Latakia. Authorities in Latakia are currently working to verify whether there were any casualties at the targeted sites.

The Syrian Ministry of Defense has not issued an immediate comment on the recent ‘Israeli’ airstrikes, nor has ‘Israel’ taken responsibility or clarified the objectives of the attack.

Earlier this week, ‘Israeli’ airstrikes killed seven people in western Daraa, Syria, hours after ‘Israeli’ forces targeted Tadmur military airport and surrounding sites in the Homs countryside.

For months, ‘Israel’ has carried out near-daily airstrikes on Syria, killing civilians, and destroying military sites, vehicles, and weaponry belonging to the Syrian army.

‘Israel’ claims these actions are aimed at preventing weapons from reaching the new authorities in Damascus.
