Israeli Occupation aggression on Gaza enters 316th day
As the Israeli Occupation aggression on Gaza enters its 316th consecutive day, the situation remains dire with continued heavy bombardment and brutal massacres by Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) across various areas of the Gaza Strip.
The crisis has deepened further with the spread of viruses and infectious diseases, adding to the already immense suffering of the population.
Ceasefire Negotiations Ongoing Amidst Disagreements
Amidst this ongoing violence, there is anticipation for a potential ceasefire agreement in Gaza. However, the negotiations have hit several stumbling blocks. A senior Hamas official has stated that the new US proposal seems to align with and respond to Israeli Occupation demands.
The Hamas official also accused Israeli Occupation of stalling the process by introducing new conditions that obstruct the agreement. He called on mediators to exert pressure on Tel Aviv to adhere to the previously agreed terms.
Hamas reiterated that any agreement must ensure the cessation of Israeli aggression and the withdrawal of forces from Gaza.
Over 40,000 Deaths Reported
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli Occupation aggression has risen to 40,005, with 92,401 injuries since the conflict escalated on October 7.
First Confirmed Case of Polio Virus
The Ministry of Health also reported the first confirmed case of polio in the Gaza Strip. According to a statement released on Friday, the case was identified in a 10-month-old child in Deir al-Balah who had not received any vaccinations against polio.
The ministry noted that doctors suspected the child exhibited symptoms consistent with polio, and subsequent tests conducted in Amman confirmed the presence of a vaccine-derived strain of the virus.
The Palestinian government emphasized that protecting children and the Palestinian people remains a top priority, with all available resources being mobilized to address this health crisis. The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with international organizations and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), has developed a comprehensive plan to launch a mass vaccination campaign against polio in Gaza.
Operation Aqsa Typhoon and Israeli Occuparion’s Response
On October 7, Hamas’ military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, launched Operation Aqsa Typhoon in response to Israeli Occupation violations in the occupied Palestinian territories.
