Sweltering weather forecast almost countrywide until Tuesday-JMD
The Kingdom will remain under influence of the hot spell and searing weather will continue to ravage almost countrywide, while scorching conditions will hit Badia, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and Aqaba regions, Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said.
In its update, the department warns of the danger of direct exposure to sunlight at peak times almost nationwide, adding that children shouldn’t be left inside closed vehicles to ensure their safety.
The JMD also said fires shouldn’t be started in forested and grassy areas to avoid blazes, adding that sterilizers, perfumes, and flammable materials shouldn’t be left inside vehicles.
According to the JMD report, the hot air mass deepens slightly on Sunday, as temperatures continue to rise slightly, and hot weather prevails almost nationwide and sweltering conditions forecast in the Badia, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and Aqaba regions.
The JMD affirmed weather will remain substantially unchanged on Monday and Tuesday.
Today, mercury in the capital Amman will hit 36 degrees Celsius, dropping to 21C, while the port city of Aqaba will see a sweltering 44C, sliding to 29C at night.
