Jordan partakes in 9th meeting of AOHR Board of Trustees

Jordan has actively participated in the ninth meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Observatory for Human Rights (AOHR), an offshoot of the Arab Parliament, recently held in Cairo.

The Jordanian delegation was led by Rasmia Ka’abneh, AOHR Chairperson of the Communication and Media Committee, along with Yassera Gousha, an AOHR member, and Amjad Shmout, an advisor to the AOHR.

The meeting addressed several significant topics, focusing on the action plan of the Observatory for adopting the Arab Decade for Human Rights 2023-2033, and the launch of the Arab Human Rights Index.

Additionally, the meeting tackled the preparations for the first annual conference on human rights in the Arab world, scheduled to be held alongside the United Nations’ commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The Arab Observatory for Human Rights is an organization dedicated to monitoring and promoting human rights in the Arab region. It serves as a platform for research, documentation, and advocacy, aiming to address human rights challenges and violations in Arab countries. It collaborates with various stakeholders, including governmental and non-governmental entities, to raise awareness, develop strategies, and take action to protect and promote human rights in the Arab world.
