German Chancellor Scholz plans to speak to Putin soon

 German Chancellor Olaf Scholz expressed his intention to engage in a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin in order to urge the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine.

Speaking at a convention of the German Protestant church in Nuremberg, Scholz highlighted his previous telephone discussions with Putin and stated his plans for future communication.

“I plan to do it again soon,” he said.

Scholz added: “It’s not reasonable to force Ukraine to approve and accept the raid that Putin has perpetrated and that parts of Ukraine become Russian just like that,” noting he would work to ensure that NATO does not get drawn into the war.-
