Military shoots down drone attempting to smuggle drugs into Jordan

Early Sunday morning, the Southern Military Region of the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army (JAF) successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle narcotic substances using a drone.

According to a military source, the border guard units, in coordination with security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Directorate, intercepted the drone as it approached Jordanian territory.

The source reported that the rules of engagement were applied, leading to the drone’s cargo being shot down within Jordanian borders. The seized materials were subsequently handed over to the appropriate authorities for further investigation.

The military source reaffirmed JAF’s commitment to responding decisively to any threats along the borders, emphasizing that it will continue to combat efforts aimed at introducing narcotics into the country and protect the well-being of its citizens.
