Son kills mother in Karak with 40 stabs
A woman in her sixties was killed by her son, in his twenties, with 40 stabs inside their family home in Karak.
The son took advantage of their being alone to commit the crime, according to a source close to the investigation.
The woman’s screams, as she tried to stop her son from stabbing her with a “Mous Qarn Ghazal” knife, alerted the neighbors to the crime. She was found covered in blood, while her son fled the scene.
A source close to the investigation told Roya that the body was autopsied by a medical committee comprising forensic doctors Dr. Awad Al-Tarawneh, Dr. Alaa Al-Bawat, and Dr. Kamal Al-Habashneh at the forensic medicine department in Karak Hospital, under the orders of the Karak prosecutor.
The source revealed that the autopsy showed 40 stab wounds to the head, neck, chest, and limbs, with the cause of death being blood loss due to injuries to the chest organs from the penetrating stabs.
The Public Security Directorate had earlier announced the discovery of the crime and the son’s escape from the house, with the specialized authorities now searching for him.
