Israeli Occupation’s aggression on Gaza enters 276th day

The Israeli Occupation aggression on Gaza entered its 276th day, marked by continued genocide, massacres, and the targeting of civilians.

Abu Obaida, the spokesperson for Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, declared that the Operation Al-Aqsa Typhoon was a reaction to “Israel’s” crimes.

Abu Obaida emphasized that the Palestinian people remain subjected to aggression and genocide as punishment for their resilience on their land.

He highlighted that the occupation’s crimes have peaked with systematic cleansing and genocide in the West Bank, Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip.

He also stated that the central sector axis, Netzarim, would become a center of terror and killing, from which the occupation would emerge defeated.

He reassured that the human capabilities of Al-Qassam Brigades are intact, having recruited thousands of new fighters during the aggression. He confirmed that there are thousands of fighters ready to confront the enemy whenever necessary.

Hamas agreed “to start negotiations” regarding detainees “without a permanent ceasefire,” according to AFP, citing an unnamed senior movement official.

This development comes amidst renewed mediation efforts by the US, Qatar, and Egypt to urge Tel Aviv and Hamas to enter talks to reach a prisoner exchange deal.

The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, stated that “Hamas previously required Tel Aviv to agree to a complete and permanent ceasefire” to engage in negotiations about the detainees.

However, this condition has been bypassed as the mediators have promised that as long as the prisoner negotiations continue, the ceasefire will be maintained.

“Hamas backed down from its condition of a permanent ceasefire, agreeing to start negotiations without a permanent ceasefire,” the official added. “The ball is in Tel Aviv’s court, and if they want to reach an agreement, it is very possible to achieve it.”

He pointed out that Hamas expects the negotiations to take two to three weeks if Tel Aviv does not disrupt the negotiation process as it has in previous instances.
