Israeli Occupation’s aggression on Gaza enters its 275th day

The Israeli Occupation’s aggression on the Gaza Strip entered its 275th day, marked by ongoing acts of genocide, massacres, and the targeting of civilians.

The latest of these horrific massacres involved the targeting of a school sheltering displaced people in Al-Nuseirat, leading to the martyrdom of 16 people and the injury of 50 others, according to the Gazan Ministry of Health.

The Ministry of Health has once again warned about the ongoing fuel crisis, which is necessary for operating hospital generators, oxygen stations, and medicine refrigerators in all remaining functional health facilities in the Gaza Strip.

Gaza’s health ministry mentioned that strict austerity measures are being followed due to the trickle-down supply policy, which sometimes results in minimal fuel delivery.

Additionally, the ministry pointed out that work has been halted in many departments within the remaining operational hospitals.

A Hamas leader revealed the reason behind the movement’s initial agreement to a US-backed proposal to stop the aggression on Gaza, the Associated Press (AP) reported.

The leader stated that the movement initially agreed to a US-backed proposal regarding a phased ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and a prisoner exchange with the Israeli Occupation after receiving “verbal assurances and guarantees” from mediators that the war would not resume and that negotiations would continue until a permanent ceasefire agreement is reached.

The leader added that the movement still wants “written guarantees” from the mediators that Tel Aviv will continue negotiating for a permanent ceasefire agreement once the first phase comes into effect.

Meanwhile, Israeli Occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insists on not ending the war until “Israel” achieves its objectives of destroying Hamas’ military capabilities and governing abilities, and retrieving all captives.

An Egyptian official and another from Hamas mentioned that the movement has given up a primary demand for a prior commitment from the occupation to a complete end to the war, Reuters reported.

He said that Hamas has given up its demand for the occupation to commit first to a permanent ceasefire before signing the agreement. He will allow this to be achieved through negotiations during the first phase, which lasts six weeks.
