US aiming to provide secure passage through Red Sea, says Kirby
The United States National Security Council coordinator, John Kirby, affirmed that the US has established a naval coalition to protect international navigation, adding that the recent Houthi attacks did not result in any injuries.
Kirby stated Wednesday that Houthi attacks in the Red Sea threaten global navigation freedom and one of the world’s most crucial waterways, referring to their targeting of all commercial ships passing through the Red Sea.
Kirby emphasized that the United States is not seeking conflict but rather aiming to provide a secure passage for international trade in the Red Sea.
He further added that President Joe Biden has expressed concern about the growing violence by settlers in the West Bank.
