The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has strongly condemned the recent US-British airstrikes that targeted a residential area in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, calling the attack “criminal” and a blatant violation of international law and Yemen’s sovereignty.
In a statement, Hamas expressed full solidarity with Yemen and its people, praising the steps taken by Yemenis in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza amid what it described as an ongoing “genocidal war.”
The political bureau of Ansar Allah (the Houthis) issued a statement warning that the US airstrikes “will not go unanswered” and that their forces are “prepared to escalate in kind until victory is achieved.”
“The American aggression will not deter our people from continuing to support Palestine and standing by the people of Gaza and its resistance,” the Houthis said in a statement, adding that “the US and UK strikes are a direct response to Yemen’s position in solidarity with the Palestinian cause.”
The statement further accused the United States of “waging war on behalf of the Zionist entity,” emphasizing that “targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure constitutes a war crime and a clear act of American terrorism against nations.”
