Safadi, Blinken postpone planned meeting
Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi, received a phone call from US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. The two agreed to postpone Blinken’s scheduled visit to Jordan, with plans to meet at a later date.
During their conversation, Safadi and Blinken discussed the escalating situation in the region, particularly Israeli Occupation’s military actions in Gaza, Lebanon, and the West Bank. Safadi emphasized the need for an immediate halt to the aggression, noting the dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where food and medical supplies are being blocked.
Safadi also warned that continued Israeli Occupation aggression could lead to a broader regional war. The two ministers touched on humanitarian efforts in Gaza and the need for urgent aid. Additionally, Safadi stressed the importance of halting the aggression in Lebanon and fully implementing UN Resolution 1701. Safadi is set to travel to Paris to attend an international conference in support of Lebanon’s sovereignty.
