Heatwave alert issued by Jordan Meteorological Department

The Jordan Meteorological Department has warned citizens of the danger of direct exposure to sunlight and the risk of fires in wooded areas, as well as the importance of not leaving children in closed vehicles even for a short period, due to the heatwave currently affecting Jordan.

Jordan remains under the influence of the heatwave, with dry and hot weather over the mountainous areas and plains, and very hot temperatures in the Badia, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with moderate northwesterly winds occasionally becoming active.

At night, the weather is expected to be moderate in temperature over the mountainous areas and relatively hot in other regions, with light northwesterly winds.

Jordan will remain under the influence of the hot air mass on Thursday and until the end of the week – per ArabiaWeather’s forecasts.

Additionally, there will be further increases in temperatures on Thursday, with hot weather prevailing in various regions and extreme heat especially in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with temperatures approaching or even exceeding 40 degrees Celsius in some areas.

ArabiaWeather also indicated that Jordan would continue to experience hot weather on Friday, with temperatures expected to reach or exceed 40 degrees Celsius, especially in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Westerly winds are expected to be moderate, becoming active in the afternoon and causing dust storms in desert areas.
