United States says it “does not support” ICC investigation of Israeli Occupation
The United States said it opposes the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) investigation into the Israeli Occupation actions in the Gaza Strip, amid reports that “Israeli” officials are fearful that the Hague-based tribunal could soon issue arrest warrants.
“We’ve been really clear about the ICC investigation, that we don’t support it, we don’t believe that they have the jurisdiction,” White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters.
Prime Minister of the “Israeli” government, Benjamin Netanyahu, remains gripped in fear of the possibility of an arrest warrant being issued against him by the ICC, as reported by the Hebrew newspaper Maariv.
It added that Netanyahu has made a “marathon of phone calls”, especially with US President Joe Biden, in an effort to pressure every relevant factor in the matter.
It is believed that the arrest warrant would include Netanyahu along with the “Israeli” War Minister Yoav Gallant and the IOF’s Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi.
Netanyahu acknowledged the seriousness of the International Court of Justice’s decisions regarding the brutality of the IOF’s aggression on Gaza.
“The threat against IDF soldiers and public figures of Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East and the only Jewish state in the world, is scandalous,” Netanyahu said on his “X” account.
“We will not give in to it,” he added.
