Israeli Occupation’s aggression on Gaza enters 111th day
The Israeli Occupation’s aggression on the Gaza Strip has entered its 111th day, as the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) keep targeting civilians in the strip.
A number of displaced individuals heading south were also subjected to the Israeli Occupation’s shelling.
The Israeli Occupation intensified its aggression on Khan Yunis, where a center hosting 10,000 displaced people was mercilessly shelled by the IOF.
With the exacerbation of the suffering of the people in the strip due to the ongoing aggression, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians are facing famine and direct targeting of shelter centers.
– Operation Aqsa Typhoon –
Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas, launched Operation Aqsa Typhoon on October 7 in response to the Israeli Occupation’s violations in the occupied Palestinian territories.
In return, the Israeli Occupation launched a military operation against the Gaza Strip called “Operation Iron Swords” and carried out a series of intense airstrikes on various areas in the strip.
This resulted in the loss of hundreds of lives and thousands of injuries, in addition to the destruction of numerous buildings, residential towers, institutions, and infrastructure.
– Casualties –
According to the latest figures released by the Ministry of Health in Gaza, the death toll has reached 25,105 people, with 62,681 individuals injured since the beginning of the aggression on October 7.
According to the confirmed casualties acknowledged by the Israeli Occupation military, the death toll has risen to 531 since October 7, with 195 of them being killed since the ground operations commenced on Oct. 26.
– Genocide –
The International Court of Justice (ICJ), the highest judicial body affiliated with the United Nations, is expected to announce a historic decision on Friday in the case filed against the Israeli Occupation for committing acts of genocide in the Gaza Strip.
The court might issue a decision ordering the cessation of the Israeli Occupation’s aggression on the Gaza Strip.
Last month, South Africa filed a complaint with the ICJ in The Hague, stating that the Israeli Occupation violates the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, which was signed following the Holocaust during World War II.
South Africa seeks the imposition of “provisional measures” by the court, which are urgent judicial orders applied while the court considers the substance of the case, a process that could take years.
