‘Israeli society is paying the price for its silence’ says Palestinian PM
Palestinian prime minister Mohammed Shtayyeh said Monday that “Today, Israeli society is paying the price for its silence over the crimes committed by its extremist government against our people.”
This came during a meeting with his cabinet.
He added: “We appreciate the decision of the Portuguese Parliament to recognize the Nakba (the catastrophe) of the Palestinian people, 75 years after the forced displacement of our people from their land and homes in 1948, and the massacres committed by the Israeli gangs against the residents of the displaced villages and towns, claiming the lives of thousands of victims, including women, elderly, youth and children.”
