Palestinian killed, two injured and a house demolished in an Israeli army assault in Nablus

A Palestinian was killed, two others were injured, one of them critical, and a house was demolished this morning in an Israeli army assault on the northern West Bank city of Nablus, according to medical and local sources.

Khalil Yehya Anis, 20, was shot in the head by army bullets and killed, according to the Ministry of Health, and two others were shot in the head and leg, one of them critical, and taken to hospital in Nablus.

At the same time, the army surrounded Rafidya neighborhood in Nablus in order to demolish the home of Usama Tawil, who was arrested on February 13 and charged with killing a soldier in the city.

Hours later, the army demolished the 150-square-meter Tawil home, located in a four-story building, displacing his parents and a sister who lived in the house.

The soldiers removed all residents from the building before demolishing the Tawil home, said sources in Nablus.

The Red Crescent said 170 people were treated from suffocation due to the heavy tear gas fired by the soldiers during the raid.

It also said one of its ambulances was hit by a tear gas canister and another was shot at by the soldiers to prevent it from reaching the area to evacuate the wounded.

With the killing of Tawil, the Israeli army has killed or caused the death of 161 Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip since the start of the year, including 26 children.
