Hamas response to US proposal deemed serious and responsible

The Hamas Political Bureau member Izzat Al-Rishq confirmed that the movement and Palestinian factions responded to the US proposal for a truce agreement in Gaza with responsibility, seriousness, and positivity.

Al-Rishq stated on his Telegram channel on Wednesday that Hamas’s response aligned with the demands of the Palestinian people and their resistance, opening the way for reaching an agreement.

He noted that the Hebrew media’s incitement against Hamas’s response indicated attempts to evade the obligations of the agreement.

Earlier, a Hamas official mentioned that the movement had officially responded to the US proposal for a truce in Gaza.

Egypt and Qatar announced they had received a response from Hamas and the Palestinian factions regarding the ceasefire and the exchange of captives.

Both countries emphasized that their joint mediation efforts with the United States were ongoing until an agreement was reached. They planned to study the response and coordinate with the concerned parties on the next steps.

In a joint press statement, Hamas and Islamic Jihad announced that a joint delegation had delivered the resistance factions’ response to the Qatari side during a meeting with the Qatari Prime Minister on Tuesday evening. The response was also sent to the Egyptians.

The White House confirmed that Washington refrained from commenting on Hamas’s response to the ceasefire proposal until it had been reviewed.

The White House added, “We are aware that Hamas has delivered its response to Qatar and Egypt, and we are evaluating it.”
