Canada planning aid airdrops for Gaza “as soon as possible”
The Canadian government will carry out humanitarian airdrops over the Gaza Strip within the next week – per CBS news citing a Canadian government official.
Canadian Minister of International Development, Ahmed Hussen, stated that his country has been exploring new options for providing assistance to the Strip, and is working to deliver aid “as soon as possible.”
He added that providing airdrop operations, in partnership with like-minded countries in the region, such as Jordan, is on the table.
Hussen visited Jordan and Egypt last week, and emphasized that the amount of aid entering Gaza is nowhere near what’s needed, while also criticizing the tedious truck inspection process at the border crossing.
