Sisi warns of “expansion of Gaza conflict”
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi has warned Wednesday that prolonging the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip could lead to an expansion of the conflict, thus jeopardizing regional and international security.
In a phone call with Dutch Prime Minister, Mark Rutte, the two parties discussed developments in the region, and Rutte expressed appreciation for Egypt’s role in efforts to restore calm, protect civilians and evacuate foreign nationals and the injured from the Gaza Strip.
Sisi emphasized the critical need for the international community to urgently push toward a ceasefire and the protection of civilians.
