Gallant, Sheikh engage in talks to de-escalate situation in Palestinian territories

Israeli Occupation Minister of Defense, Yoav Gallant, expressed grave concern regarding the recent surge in violence by extremist factions targeting Palestinians, as reported by his office.

Gallant assured the Minister of Civil Affairs in the Palestinian Authority, Hussein al-Sheikh, that he would ensure that those responsible for the acts of violence, whom he referred to as “rioters” among the settler population, would face legal consequences.

During their discussion, which revolved around the escalating situation in the Palestinian territories, both Gallant and Sheikh emphasized the urgent need to restore calm and stability for both sides.

Gallant underscored the commitment of security forces to combat “terrorism” wherever it arises and urged swift and resolute action against what he described as “centers of terrorism.”
