Pro-Palestinian protests escalate at US universities amid Gaza war

American media outlets have reported on escalating tensions at US universities, where large protests by Palestinian supporters against the Gaza war are taking place.

According to reports, police used force to break up a student sit-in at Virginia Commonwealth University, where students were calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Meanwhile, at the University of Florida in Gainesville, nine people were arrested on campus for violating protest regulations.

Additionally, security forces surrounded the student protest area at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and warned protesters to end their sit-in within 24 hours.
