The Arab League has called on the European Union (EU), the int’l community and relevant, competent int’l organizations to assume their responsibilities and “immediately” intervene to exert pressure on the Israeli occupation government, and to provide the necessary protection for the Palestinian people in accordance with the Fourth Geneva Convention.
Moreover, the bloc condemned the Israeli policy of escalation in demolishing Palestinian homes, which has risen to more than 200% during 2020, as part of the continuous Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.
In a press statement released on Saturday, the Assistant Secretary-General, Head of the Palestinian and Occupied Arab Territories Sector at the Arab League, Dr. Saeed Abu Ali, has warned of the dangers and repercussions of these criminal policies that fall within the framework of ethnic cleansing practices and annexation projects of the Palestinian lands.
These steps’ social, economic and educational implications that “excessively impoverish” Palestinian society and display apartheid practices, according to the official.
