China approves new restrictions on e-games

AFAQ NEWS

China has approved a package of strict measures to protect children, adolescents and youth from the negative effects of e-games and screens.

Some children spend a whole day glued to their screens in front of electronic games, a phenomenon that raises fears and criticism in China due to its negative impacts, and the consequences of this type of addiction such as poor eyesight, declining academic results, lack of physical activity and the risk of addiction.

As a result of these measures, the giant Chinese electronic games company “Tencent Games” imposed new restrictions on its popular game “Honor of Kings”.

Now, people under the age of 18 are allowed to play for a maximum of two hours a day, only, while the rules adopted in China originally prohibit minors from playing online between 10 pm and 8 am.
