US Ambassador claims ‘Israeli’ army “most ethical” in history, defends civilian deaths

  • US ambassador to ‘Israel’ praises Israeli army as “more ethical than any army” and denies West Bank occupation.
  • Ambiguous justifications for child deaths in Gaza and support for full Israeli sovereignty spark international outrage.

The US ambassador to ‘Israel’, Mike Hakabi, has ignited controversy with remarks praising the ‘Israeli’ army as “more ethical than any army in history,” claiming it exceeds US military standards, particularly compared with operations in Mosul and Afghanistan.

In an interview with American journalist Tucker, Hakabi described Washington’s current military doctrine as politicized and argued that Israeli leadership demonstrates clearer decision-making. He added that ‘Israeli’ measures to protect civilians in Gaza and urban areas surpass any prior international standards.

Child Recruitment and Justifications for Gaza Casualties

Hakabi defended civilian deaths in Gaza by accusing Hamas of recruiting children as young as fourteen to fight. He stated:

“I think a 14-year-old who is carrying a weapon and trying to kill people has lost his status as a child.”
Addressing deaths of minors in Gaza, he added:

“If they participated in that, then God help them… If he’s holding a gun, war is a horrible thing.”

Hakabi further justified military actions as necessary for ‘Israel’s’ survival:

“Would you do whatever it took to get your kids back if they were being tortured, raped, starved?”

Denial of Occupation and West Bank Sovereignty

The ambassador rejected the term “occupation” regarding the West Bank, insisting on the biblical terms “Judea and Samaria”. He claimed the land belongs historically to ‘Israel’ and that the US backs full ‘Israeli’ sovereignty over settlements as an unquestionable right. On broader territorial ambitions, Hakabi controversially said:

“It would be fine if they took it all.”

This remark refers to the area stretching from the Nile to the Euphrates, implying support for maximalist territorial claims based on Genesis 15.

Two-State Solution “Unrealistic”

Hakabi dismissed the two-state solution as a “failed and unrealistic” plan that threatens regional security. He said U.S. policy will focus on ensuring “complete victory”, consolidating Jerusalem as the unified capital of ‘Israel’, and backing comprehensive military measures without international constraints.

Hakabi’s comments, combining moral defense of the army, justification for child casualties, and territorial maximalism, signal a hardline US diplomatic stance toward the region and dismiss Palestinian statehood efforts as obsolete.
