Kuwait air defenses intercept missile, drone attack

The Kuwaiti Armed Forces said on Sunday that its air defense systems are currently intercepting a missile and drone attack following an attack targeting the country.

The General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army said sounds of explosions heard in some areas were caused by successful interception operations carried out by the air defense network to destroy hostile targets in Kuwaiti airspace.

The Ministry of Defense called on citizens and residents to fully comply with security and safety instructions issued by official authorities during the situation.

Authorities also urged the public to obtain information from official sources and avoid spreading rumors, while affirming that the armed forces remain prepared to protect Kuwait’s sovereignty and security.
