Jordan’s Public Security Directorate announced that its Anti-Narcotics Department successfully dismantled a regional drug trafficking gang composed of five individuals, seizing 270 kilograms of hashish and an automatic firearm.

According to the spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate, the department has been actively pursuing drug trafficking, distribution, and smuggling cases. In the past few days alone, authorities handled 14 significant cases, including the dismantling of the five-person gang.

Investigators traced the gang’s activities to cooperation between local and foreign nationals, identifying three foreign individuals who smuggled large quantities of hashish into the kingdom and delivered them to two Jordanian accomplices. All five suspects were arrested, and the drugs and firearm were recovered during coordinated raids.

In addition to this major bust, the Anti-Narcotics Department conducted 13 other notable operations, arresting 22 dealers and distributors, including two classified as dangerous, while confiscating substantial quantities of drugs across multiple regions:

  • 7 kilos of hashish and 0.5 kg of crystal meth in Ramtha.
