Jordan announces public holiday on May 1

Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan has announced that Thursday, May 1, 2025, will be an official holiday in Jordan to mark International Labour Day.
In a formal statement, the decision applies to all ministries, public institutions, government-owned companies, universities, municipalities, joint service councils, and the Greater Amman Municipality.
The holiday is part of Jordan’s annual recognition of workers’ contributions across all sectors.
