Gunmen attack courthouse in southeastern Iran: state TV

Gunmen carried out a “terrorist attack” today on a courthouse in Zahedan, the capital of Iran’s southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan province, Iranian state television said Saturday morning.

Sources indicate the attack led to fierce clashes between security forces and the assailants inside the courthouse. Security agencies are working to control the situation and secure the building.

At least eight were killed during the attack, Iranian news outlets reported.

Emergency teams managed to evacuate several injured people, the state TV said in a new update.
