In a recent interview MrWhoseTheBoss whos real name is Arun Rupesh Maini, revealed his traumatic experience with US border control.
What happened
Arun revealed his experience to Dexerto, saying he received a $300,000 offer a few years ago to cover a high-tech stadium project in the US, which he highlighted as the largest offer he accepted. Once he flew to the US, he was stopped by the US border control and was taken to a “back room” where they told him he was not allowed to take his phone out.
He stated that he was not even allowed to contact the people from his sponsor who were waiting for him at the airport. After a couple of hours, the questions started to become more accusatory, he stated, “as if I’m stealing money from the US or something like that.”
Eventually, they took him into a deeper room where he was surrounded by armed guards. After which, he was taken into a cell and strip-searched, which he called “very violating stuff.” After that, he was held in the cell with no phone, not able to contact family or friends for over 26 hours, recalling that he felt “inhuman.”
He was later released and deported back to the UK, where he was only given his phone back after the flight had taken off. He was then able to contact his family and tell them how it “all fell apart.” He recalls feeling “traumatized.”
Arun stated there is now a “black mark” under his name, and he is taken for questioning every time he visits the US, saying, “It’s scary. I don’t like it. I was distraught.”
