The Himmet Watan Fund committee decided to provide JOD19 million to the National Aid Fund and boost support for the “Takaful 2” program for this month while monitoring the quality of the program’s performance amid the coronavirus pandemic.
In a press statement on Tuesday, Deputy Chairman Jamal Sarayrah said the committee conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the efforts of social protection programs sponsored by the Ministry of Social Development in cooperation with Jordanian charities and other volunteers.
Based on the evaluation, the fund agreed to continue supporting these efforts after reviewing amendments to the approved foundations, in addition to looking into the need for programs and initiatives to support self-employed individuals, who were not covered by the Social Security Fund, Sarayrah added.
He commended those who contributed to the fund, urging others who have not donated to make their contributions to alleviate the humanitarian, social and economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
