Emergency services in Libya said that two people were killed on Saturday in a shelter for the displaced in an area in the capital Tripoli, which was bombed by the “Libyan National Army” forces led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar.

Usama Ali, spokesman for the Ambulance and Emergency Authority in Tripoli, said that the shelling had caused a fire in the Al-Farnaj area, which is located near the front lines and the home of a number of displaced people.

The spokesman pointed out that the ambulance is trying to evacuate the remaining displaced people and transfer them to another place in the city, noting that most of the displaced people in Al-Farnaj are from the neighboring Ain Zara area.

The “Libyan National Army” had started an attack on Tripoli 13 months ago to extract the city from the National Accord government.

The United Nations said last month that 80% of the civilian casualties during the war in Libya in the first quarter of this year were killed in “Libyan National Army” operations.

The Libyan National Army stated today that it destroyed a Turkish march plane in Al-Wattia, while the Al-Wefaq government said it had destroyed an anti-aircraft system in the same location, despite the denial of a spokesman for the national army.

The fighting in and around Tripoli has added to the difficult conditions faced by residents, who last week witnessed prolonged power and water cuts with a sharp rise in temperature, in addition to fears of the spread of the Corona virus.
