A prominent Lebanese security source revealed initial findings of the investigation into the assassination of Hamas leader Saleh Al-Arouri by an Israeli Occupation airstrike in Beirut, Lebanon which took place Tuesday.

The source stated that Al-Arouri was assassinated using guided missiles launched by a fighter jet, not a drone, as previously believed. The jet fired six missiles, two of which did not explode, with an estimated weight of around 100 kilograms each, according to Agence France-Presse (AFP).

The source added that two missiles penetrated the roofs of two floors before directly targeting the location of the meeting in the building.

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) announced the assassination of Saleh al-Arouri, the Deputy Chief of the Political Bureau of the movement, and several of his comrades in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, Wednesday.
