Digital economy minister, DCO delegation discuss cooperation

Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Ahmad Hanandeh, met Monday with Secretary-General of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), Dima Al-Yahya, and her accompanying delegation, on ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides.

During the meeting, Hanandeh stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation with the DCO to integrate efforts towards accelerating the digital transformation and stimulating the digital economy by adopting emerging and advanced technologies in response to future requirements and in preparation for the competition and challenges that it will impose which will require intensifying efforts and work towards digital transformation and benefiting from sustainable growth opportunities in all fields.

He expressed his pride in Jordan being one of the founding members of the DCO, as the Ministry is coordinating and communicating with many Jordanian companies working in the field of digital transformation, entrepreneurship, e-payment and other academic institutions with the aim of networking with the DCO to establish real partnerships, open new markets in the region, and discuss ways to remove challenges and obstacles in order to facilitate small and emerging enterprises and entrepreneurship to access real opportunities through which to invest in the DCO countries.

Al-Yahya, in turn, lauded Jordan’s digital economy vision, which is compatible with the common digital aspirations of member states for economic diversification, stressing the DCO’s role in achieving digital prosperity for all by empowering women, youth and entrepreneurs, and developing the digital economy through innovation-based development leaps.
