A tanker has been struck by an unknown projectile about 11 nautical miles northeast of Limah, Oman, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said.
The strike damaged the vessel’s engine room, leaving it not under command, according to UKMTO.
The agency said regional Coast Guard forces have been notified, and authorities are investigating the incident.
No casualties or environmental damage have been reported. UKMTO advised vessels operating in the area to exercise caution and report any suspicious activity.
