• Ministry launches electronic deferment applications for first batch of conscripts
• Eligible students and residents abroad can apply online
• Deferred conscripts must join service after postponement ends
• Lottery last week selected 6,000 youth for compulsory service in 2026

The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, in coordination with the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF)-Arab Army, announced on Wednesday that requests to defer compulsory military service are now being accepted for the first batch of conscripts through the electronic military service platform.

– Who can apply –

Eligible applicants include students enrolled in annual programs such as medicine and pharmacy, regular school students, and Jordanians living abroad who can verify their status. Deferred conscripts are obligated to begin service immediately once the reason for postponement ends, following the National Service and Reserve Law No. 23 of 1986 and its amendments.

– How to apply –

Applicants meeting the criteria can submit requests online via https://khidmetalam.gov.jo/service/sanadlogin by selecting the newly activated deferment option. All procedures are fully electronic, eliminating the need to visit government offices and ensuring a faster, more convenient process.

– Recent lottery selection –

Last Monday, the Ministry conducted an electronic lottery for Jordanians born in 2007, selecting 6,000 youth for compulsory service in 2026. These conscripts are divided into three batches of 2,000 each.
