Jordan begins the week with relatively cold weather and only slight chances of rain, ahead of a major weather shift expected from Wednesday as the country comes under the influence of a low-pressure system bringing heavy rain, thunderstorms, and potential flooding.
Monday–Tuesday: Relatively cold weather, light rain chances
Monday brings relatively cold conditions across most regions, with milder temperatures in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba.
A slight chance of brief, light showers is forecast for the far north, accompanied by moderate southwesterly winds. Daytime temperatures hover around 14°C, dropping to 7°C at night.
On Tuesday, similar weather continues with increasing cloud cover. Light and scattered showers may fall in limited areas of the north and center, with winds becoming occasionally active. Temperatures remain stable, with highs around 14°C and lows near 7°C.
Wednesday: Storm system arrives, rain intensifies
A significant change in weather begins Wednesday as Jordan is gradually affected by an approaching low-pressure system. Intermittent showers are expected in the north, center, and parts of the southwest.
Rainfall expands throughout the day to include most areas, becoming heavy at times in the evening and overnight, accompanied by thunderstorms and hail.
The Meteorological Department warns of a high risk of flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas, including the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. Temperatures drop slightly, with a high of 13°C and a low of 7°C.
Thursday: Cooler temperatures and continuous rainfall
Temperatures fall further on Thursday, with highs around 11°C. The weather turns cold, cloudy, and rainy, especially in northern and central regions.
Chances of heavy rain, thunderstorms, and hail persist, keeping flood warnings in effect.
By nighttime, rainfall extends to limited parts of eastern and southwestern regions, while temperatures dip to around 6°C.
