The US military’s Central Command (CENTCOM) said it has redirected 55 commercial vessels as part of its naval blockade on Iran.

The figure increased by two from the 53 vessels reported by CENTCOM the previous day.

CENTCOM said more than 20 US warships are currently deployed across the Middle East, supporting military missions that include enforcement of the blockade.

The latest figures come as US naval forces continue operations aimed at restricting maritime traffic linked to Iran, with the blockade affecting commercial shipping routes across the region.
