Dr. Amir: The Intelligent Economy Needs More Than Capital — It Needs Technology, Talent and Strategic Partnerships
Doha, QFEX 2026 – AFAQ News
Dr. Amir, Chairman of JTA International Investment Holding, said that investment in the intelligent economy can no longer be measured by financial returns alone, stressing that successful investments increasingly depend on the ability to connect capital with technology, talent, market access and strong strategic partnerships.
Speaking at QFEX 2026 in Doha during a keynote address titled “Capital & Investment in the Intelligent Economy: Identifying Opportunities and Building Strategic Partnerships,” Dr. Amir highlighted the major transformation taking place across global markets and the changing way investors evaluate future opportunities.
He noted that capital remains essential, but funding alone is no longer enough to build sustainable businesses. Investors must also consider technology, expertise, human capital, access to markets, job creation and the ability of projects to generate long-term economic value.
Dr. Amir highlighted the growing impact of artificial intelligence and advanced technologies across sectors including energy, transportation, manufacturing and healthcare, pointing to JTA’s plans to develop electric vehicle manufacturing in Qatar as an example of a broader investment model.
He explained that such investment can create opportunities beyond vehicle production itself, including engineering, battery technologies, software development, skilled employment, supply chains and future export opportunities.
Dr. Amir also emphasized the importance of strong local and international partnerships, particularly those that bring together governments, investors, private companies, universities and research institutions.
He described Qatar as well positioned to attract this new generation of investment, supported by its advanced infrastructure, international connectivity and long-term national vision.
Concluding his address, Dr. Amir said the future of investment will depend on building effective connections between capital, technology, talent, markets and strategic partners, with trust and long-term value creation at the center of these relationships.
Through JTA International Investment Holding, he added, the objective is to build such connections across borders and develop investments capable of delivering tangible and sustainable economic value.
