Acting Minister of Interior, Bassam Talhouni, said holding gatherings or celebrating events in all their forms won’t be allowed, in exploitation of the end of the 4-day blanket lockdown and return to the partial curfew.

The Acting Minister of Interior made his remarks following the issuance of Defense Order No. 22, which stiffened penalties for holding, organizing, attending or participating in gatherings, to become a prison sentence of up to three years or a fine of up to JD 3000.

Talhouni noted that defense orders will be strictly and severely implemented, and the necessary legal and administrative measures will be taken against violators, especially in light of the developments in the epidemiological situation and the increase in the number of infections with the coronavirus.

The Interior Minister called on administrative governors to give this matter great care and attention in cooperation and coordination with the security bodies within their jurisdictions.
