Vote centers will close at 07:00pm with the possibility of the IEC extending the voting for an additional two hours if the turnout was high.

According to final electoral data, the 1,674 candidates are running in 294 lists with the number of male hopefuls at 1,314 compared with 360 female candidates, or 21 percent of the total.

A total of 397 candidates are running in the elections on partisan basis representing 41 political parties from 48 licensed parties in the Kingdom.

The Kingdom is divided into 23 constituents with 12 governorates given a single constituent each, except for Amman which is divided into 5 constituents, Irbid (4 constituents) and Zarqa which is made up of two constituents. This is in addition to 3 constituents for the northern, central and southern badia regions.

Under the elections law, a voter may cast his/her ballot for one electoral list from which he/she can choose a candidate or more. In all cases, the number of candidates in the same list shall not exceed the number of seats allocated for the respective constituent.

In addition to 15 seats designated as women quota, Christians have a 9-seat quota while Jordanians of Chechen and Circassian descent have 3 seats.

With regard to result auditing, the IEC announced the formation of 3 special committees in Amman, Karak and Irbid, each of which is headed by a retired judge and includes in its membership notable public figures. The panels will audit and check the results after all the votes are counted.
