The Jordan University Hospital stated that one of its employees, who tested positive for the COVID-19 earlier, had been on vacation but that after she came into work she displayed symptoms of the disease, prompting her to undergo a PCR test.
In a statement on Thursday, the hospital administration said that the competent authorities are investigating to pinpoint the source of infection, noting that the case was dealt in accordance with the protocol in force by the Ministry of Health.
The statement also detailed the case of a woman, who was a patient at the hospital’s emergency room last Tuesday after she presented with a high temperature. After testing positive for the virus, the woman was transferred to the Prince Hamza hospital for treatment, it said.
As a precaution all hospital facilities were sterilized, the statement added.
