The Jordanian and German governments have signed a grant agreement worth €34 million, to fund the third and fourth phases of a public school construction project.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Wissam Rabadi said this grant comes as part of efforts exerted to follow up the implementation of the German government’s financial commitments and pledges announced during the official Jordanian-German talks held at the end of 2019.
This grant aims at improving the quality of basic education in the Kingdom, easing the pressure on schools by building and expanding public schools in addition to providing them with new furniture and equipment, the minister added.
Rabadi thanked the German government for its continuous support to vital sectors including, water and sanitation, education and many other domains, and for helping Jordan face the ramifications of the Syrian refugee crisis.
