Hot spell to prevail nationwide

A sustained spell of heat is expected to span through most regions of the Kingdom today with hotter-than-usual temperatures marking 3-4 degrees above annual average, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said.

However, temperatures are set to become cooler on Thursday and into the weekend, as mercury levels will slightly drop.

Temperatures in the capital Amman today will hover around 36 degrees Celsius during the daytime to 22 degrees at night. Meanwhile, highs in Aqaba will hit a sweltering 42 degrees, sliding to 29.
