Agreement signed to develop diagnostic guidelines for the disabled

AFAQ NEWS – The Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (HCRPD), the Health Ministry and the Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC) on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding to develop clinical guidelines for diagnosing persons with disabilities in the Kingdom.

The memorandum was signed by HRH Prince Mired bin Ra’ad bin Zeid, President of the HCRPD, Health Minister, Saad Jaber, and Executive Director of the HCAC, Salma Jaouni.

Prince Mired underscored that the memo is a vital step for achieving integration and partnership in developing diagnosis policies in Jordan, improving health services provided to persons with disabilities, and activating follow-up mechanisms for diagnostic institutions and centers to ensure uniform procedures.

Jaber underlined that the agreement reflects an interest and response to the needs of persons with disabilities, adding that the ministry is keen on cooperation with the HCRPD to provide high-quality medical service.

On the project, Jaouni said it indicates the depth of the tripartite partnership, noting that it is aimed at developing clinical practice guidelines.

Under the memorandum, the ministry and the Higher Council provide technical support, follow up on work progress, provide the necessary data and information to the work team, and facilitate the HCAC team’s visits to relevant institutions and centers.

The agreement is part of the Kingdom’s efforts to provide optimal health services for persons with disabilities through the development of guidelines that would streamline the diagnostic process and facilitate access to health services.
