Landmark Amman renews partnership to support WFP

Afaq News
In recognition of its social responsibility, the Landmark Amman Hotel and Conference Center has renewed its partnership agreement with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP).

As part of the agreement, Landmark will continue implementing fundraising and awareness activities for WFP’s programme, which aim to increase the food security of vulnerable Jordanians and refugees.

“We continuously offer our assistance to various civil society organizations, which constitutes part of our social responsibility as a leading Jordanian enterprise with a local impact”, said Mr. Ibrahim Karajeh, General Manager of Landmark Amman Hotel.

Landmark Amman, the first five-star hotel in Jordan owned and operated by Jordanians, signed a first cooperation agreement with WFP in 2012. The hotel is supporting WFP’s work through fundraising events, where part of the proceeds goes to funding WFP’s activities such as cash assistance, school feeding, and livelihood programme.

“We are pleased to renew our agreement with Landmark Hotel. Partnering with the private sector lies at the heart of WFP’s Country Strategic Plan 2020 – 2022, and is part of our commitment to the Sustainable Development Goal 17 – Partnerships for the Goals”, said WFP’s Country Director and Representative Sarah Gordon-Gibson.

WFP has been present in Jordan since 1964, and works closely with the Government and partners to support over one million vulnerable Jordanians and refugees through different activities.
